Mammoth Spring Skiing, April 10-12, 2009

We headed to Mammoth for a weekend with friends. Rodney loves spring skiing, and 16 inches (40 cm) had fallen on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (it was snowing when we arrived at 10 PM). We met Rasila's friend, Juliet, at the Ontario Airport, where she left her car in long term parking, then met our neighbor, Lisa, and her boyfriend, Kevin, at the condo. We stayed at Sunshine Village Condos, at a 1 BR + loft, 2 BA condo for the 5 of us. There was a queen and double in the loft with the second bathroom. It was perfect.

Saturday was a great spring day with the temps in the high 20s F (-3 C) at 9:30, and the top never broke freezing. It was Juliet's first time to Mammoth, so we took her across the entire the entire mountain from Chair 9 in the south to Chair 13 on the back side. She was tired by the time we got her back to the base.

Sunday was even warmer! We left at about 3:00 PM for the drive home and hit bad traffic as soon as we hit I-15 all the way to the tollroad into Irvine. Holiday weekends, they suck.
